Nice tables people! Where were they found and how much did they cost? Interested in possibly purchasing more
We built those. Welded, painted and butchersblock counter top from Ikea.
Those would be extremely easy to build.
Thanks! I was very pleased with how they turned out ~ many thanks to all the members who volunteered to prepare the wood, weld the legs, and even finish painting the last one! :dms:
I donât remember the exact cost of the butcher-board counter tops - just under $200 for each one. They were 6â long, and the tables are 4â long, so we ended up with âalmost squaresâ that we were going to use as corner shelves; but, they never got made.
The steel for the bases (2" square for the legs, and 1" square for the top of the frame) did not cost 3D Fab anything - because they were âleft oversâ from the stock purchased for the âmove inâ (when we moved to the current space, and were going to build a bunch of new tables - most of which got built in timeâŚ). I have no idea how much the steel would cost. There are also adjustable âfeetâ on them - which was also purchased as part of the move in new table funds⌠(There may be some of those left; but, Iâm not 100% sure.)
The only other expenses was whatever the guys used to seal the table tops (again from the move in new table funds), and a few cans of white appliance spray paint (which we did actually pay for from 3D Fab funds; but, I donât remember the exact cost. Under $6 per can, I imagine).
I know that doesnât directly answer your question; but, it may help you find the cost better⌠???
I used water based poly on those. There âshouldâ be another 6â peice in woodshop. We used to have two but no idea what happened to the other.
You might also ask around and see if any committee/group has taken ownership of the table that was removed from 3D fab a while back⌠I see it sort of float around. It âmightâ be available - though, I would definitely confirm first.
Digital media would like them if theyâre not claimed by anyone else at this point.
Iâm willing to assist in making more after the new year if we need them.
Ya I will keep you posted - looks like they would be perfect for what we need with the move out - thank you
I will gladly help if we want to do a build day. I bet we could get one set up & welded in less than an hour.
