Where to get surfaces refinished?

Anybody know of a good place to take and have our lab table surfaces refinished? They’re either fireslate or soapstone. We’d like to get all of the scratch marks and surface dings out of them making them look really nice.

If they’re truly old-school soapstone surfaces, you can sand out the scuffs and scratches with progressively finer sandpaper. Various solvents (that probably aren’t allowed inside the space) can be used to remove stains. Then a coat of tile/stone sealer will spiff things up. Fireslate is basically the same process.

Grain of salt: I used to work in a hospital research lab and heard people talk about this process - I have never done it. You might also ask around various stone countertop vendors for what they would do
