Where is best place to find small brass/metal plates, yesterday

I am trying to find a couple of brass (or any shiny, pretty metal) pieces that i can use on the Metaza. Only problem is i need them yesterday (or before this weekend).

Pieces i need will only be 1" x 3", on shiny (not brushed) metal. They will be used as plaques on small trophies.

Does anyone know anywhere that i can pick something like this up?

Call to see if they have brass right now, and you’ll have to cut it, but CDC Products has it sometimes.

And there is a metal shear over near the Fired Arts / Jewelry area.

Mark, I believe I have some brass plating you can use. I’m taking the airbrush class tonight and will be at the space around 7. You’re welcome to cut what you need, I think it’s a 12"x12" piece.

Jorge you’re amazing!

However i won’t be able to make it tonight. Is there any chance you could cut a 1" strip and drop it in my box?

Definitely. I mostly work with copper now but I’m about 98% sure I have brass. Whereabouts on the wall is your box?

I was at CDC last week and didn’t see any. Discount steel had some(drops) when I picked up stuff there Friday, that’s if you run out of luck.

There are several trophy places in the metroplex as well. You’ve reminded me I need to make a wall of fame with a little AR for our state advancers

I have some small copper squares if you want to try that. Let me know, I’ll toss a couple in your bin. You can lightly roll press them for straightness and should wok harden them slightly. experiment for future copper work.

I have some copper sheet, not sure if it is still real shiny
it might need to be buffed first, I would need to check for
brass. I cant remember if ordered it or nickle silver in

Most Hobby Town shops have a selection of brass and aluminum strip and plates. Lakewood hardware also has it on Josie lane

Come to think of it, check Hobby Lobby, back around
the model railroad stuff, Elliot s used to carry some also

I’ll leave this in your box. Use what you need. Might need a little bit of buffing.

True Value has it, along with an outstanding selection of fasteners. I go thre often. It’s on Josey, a couple of miles south of Valwood.

I second Brian’s suggestion. It is in the strip center on the south-west corner of Josey and Valley View. Used to be Turner’s.

Isn’t that near Westlake Ace?

I think you are right, it is an Ace, not a True Value.

Depending on the size you need, I’ve found the cheapest place to get a relatively thick piece is Home Depot/Lowes and get the solid brass door kick plates. An 8" x 34" plate is $59

My response is way too slow for your problem, but a trophy shop would certainly have what you need, albeit at a premium price.
