Where can I find "TALK" instructions?

As I read the threads in the forum, I see many things I don’t have a clue how to do.
I see references to “PM with” a member?
I see part of a previous entry reproduced in a box with a light grey background?
I see references to “discourse” (I think).
My assumption is instructions exist someplace on how to do all this stuff.

click the “hamburger” by your user name, and scroll to the bottom for FAQ, and some other information. I’ve highlighted those areas of interests to newbies (usually) in yellow in the screencap).

to address a couple of these directly:

You can “quote”, as I have done above, anything by highlighting and clicking “quote”, and it will automatically place it into a response.
PM is private message; only works on the web page, not via email. You need to be level II badge (about which you can read on the FAQ and/or Badge links) before you can initiate, but you can respond if someone else initiates at any level.
“Discourse” is the software this site runs on.

“Discord” (not “Discourse”) on the other hand is the Chat forum over here: https://talk.dallasmakerspace.org/t/dms-discord-to-replace-hangout-groups/19585

Discourse IS however the program that the talk system runs on.

Discord is just similarly named
