Completely newbie here. Two of the PolyPrinters have “Needs Bed Tape” on them. Does that mean they are out of service (awaiting a part) or is ‘bed tape’ something I can get and use when so labeled? Note: the equipment list shows these as operational.
Googling, I notice that blue painter’s tape is sometimes used as “bed tape”

No, you can’t use the printer or replace the bed tape.
Sometimes there are gaps in the bed tape, or one corner where somebody damaged the tape. In these cases, you can move your prints around in the slicer. But if somebody’s left a note then shouldn’t use it and you’ll have to wait for them to replace the tape.

IIRC as well, the printer has a current sensor so will stop if there is any contact between the metal hotend and metal bed (safety thing, to stop it going into the bed I believe)
You should probably go to the Committee meeting. They might be willing to teach you how to reapply the bed tape.
