What to do with excess wood

Recently made a terrible mistake on reading a schematic and ended up with well over $100 in excess wood that Home Depot won’t take back because it’s been cut. Wondering if anyone has any experience of how to get rid of this and get back at least at little of the money lost.

It really depends on what kind of wood it is and how big your pieces are.

Unfortunately if it’s Home Depot wood then it’s probably not of much interest to woodworkers (HD doesn’t sell much other than oak).

Build something you need with it?

Ok we don’t have really any skills or resources to utilize this wood. We just have quite a few 4”x6” pieces that are just large and we can’t use or even store. I agree it’s not for wood workings maybe just for house projects.

In that case I can’t really suggest anything other than something like Facebook or Craigslist. Don’t expect to get much for it though :frowning:

Going to see if any of our neighbors are more handy than us! Maybe someone can get a good use out of the extra.

4x6’s are pretty good for cribbing unless they are cedar.

If they are cedar they could be used pretty well for outdoor projects.
