What’s the username for admin privileges on DMS laptops?

I was trying to download Python and another program when this popped up. My DMS username and password didn’t work. What do I use instead?

You don’t. All installs that require admin must go through IT/Infra.

And since you can’t see Issues & Requests without the green dot, go to this post and follow the instructions to get a green dot that will allow you to see things inside the firewall.

DaVinci Resolve. I prefer that for video editing. I use the computer that’s on the back wall of the digital media room

The thing to do in this situation is talk with the Committee chair for Digital Media about this desire and work with them to determine if that’s something they want to do. Chairs can sometimes install software themselves and/or reach out to IT for assistance.

When is the next committee meeting for the digital media group? I looked on the DMS Calendar but found no new dates.

First Sunday of the month (2:30pm in Digital Media room), so It should be on the 1st Sept. @jloukus or @Keith can confirm

Ok, I installed DaVinci Resolve on the Ubuntu computer in the Common Room, next to the bathroom. It is version 18.5. That box does not have enough grunt for 19.0 Let me know if it works for you.
