What is required to get all the slicer stations connected to the network?

are we just waiting for a network drop? If so, tell me where you want it and I’ll run it. I can terminate as well but since I don’t have access to the switches, someone else will have to configure the ports.

There should be drops in place, @bscharff and I ran them last week. They may have been down due to the switch failure, though that’s resolved now.

Thanks Andrew. Do you know if the new cable has been punched down on the patch panel? Also, on the RJ45 side do we use 568A or B?

568B is the standard we use

What kind of horrible person would use 568A?

As a person that used to pull and terminate cable, I learned quickly to ask. I don’t know why some people did it but they did. Some of the guys I worked with were dead sure that 568A was a “better” choice. I haven’t pulled cable as a profession for over 10 years and can still rattle off 568B without really thinking about it. Just don’t ask me my kids birthdays…
