What is a good online machinist's supply store, and/or one in the Dallas area?

I’d like a little lathe chuck, a rotary table, maybe a small lathe or mill, etc.

How small is “small”. For what size mill?

@lukeiamyourfather Luke you one time asked if Machine Shop was interested in your lathe.

If you want really little:

He’s in Frisco, but is online/mail order only.

Any mill or lathe around 12" to 16" in the horizontal dimension(s), and not too tall in the radial or vertical dimension like 3" or so.

Bottom line, I want something that doesn’t take up too much space so I can put it in a truck and move it on rare occasion.

That is very cool, Raymond; I will likely buy some of his goods.

For the lathe itself checkout Taig.

I have a mill from them. They’re great value and very sturdy.

I also have a Taig lathe and love it.

Taig is like the “kit car” of lathes. You can use them as-is but many people buy them and then choose to make modifications. Nick Carter’s website is a fabulous source of information on how to make a wide variety of modifications.

Sherline chucks can be used on Taig (with a small “washer”).

Don’t overlook Craiglist - I have seen both Taig and Sherline lathes and mills on there.

Edit: Little Machine Shop is another good online source for tools and accessories related to “micro” tools.

All, your replies are perfect. These websites

will get my business soon.

Little Machine Shop is where I bought most of the accessories I needed. Their section is pretty good. A few other accessories came from Amazon.
