Welding table hopes & dreams

One day I would hope that we could get these welding/fixture tables. I like the fact that they boast .0015 flatness tolerance, they have slots so you can use traditional clamps & all the ball lock holes for all the other fixtures. You can also get a tubing notcher for it as well. In reality it would probably get tore up & the clamps lost.

A bit much I think for DMS but looks nice!

Nothin’ wrong with having dreams…

Right until some unsuspecting member goes at the table with a ball-peen :disappointed_relieved:

Would they donate one for some advertising/as a sponsorship?

I suppose that’s a possibility. I’m not exactly the most PR & salesmen-ish to convince somebody to do it.

It is cheaper than this table “Acorn Table”

Only $4300 … plus shipping. Platten alone is 900+lbs

These are really nice tables.

Reviving an old one.

We had some discussion today in the Metal Shop meeting about tables.

Most of us liked the thought of a table like this.

The idea is that it covers many areas.

  1. Allows use of standard clamps
  2. Allows use of jig clamps of standard issue
  3. If one or 2 sections of table are destroyed they can be easily replaced. The user that destroys it would be ultimately held responsible for the replacement.
  4. Allow for larger fixuring.
