When I recently took a welding course at Eastfield. The class was organized in a way people would not be left behind. Dates were assigned for when every weld should be completed. The professor was great about working with people. Of course people had to ask for help. You were also able to practice anytime there was another class as long as the class professor oked it and the class was not full. It might be a better option where your son in law would not be left behind. I know Mountainview also has welding classes which might be closer for him.
