Ran late - there now
I’m here too
Status this evening, as f the time I left, we learned that
- the backup battery is flat. It is a BR1225. The dead one in the unit is a Panasonic. While it’s unlikely this is the issue, it’s so flat it may be preventing something from intializing correctly.
- the themocouple has a stripped screw in the junction block (engpin found this)
- The thermocouple seems to be functioning. I doubled up the wires on the side of the junction block with the stripped setscrew, using the good one to clamp the wires together. It acts like a thermocouple when heated.
The thermocouple connection to the controller pulled free. I looked at the connector and it’s clear it supports 3 thermocouples. We tried a test run with the thermocouple recconnected and noting had changed - still flakey. The two sockets closest to the corner of the board appear to be the first channel. I should have snapped a pic.
One thing I should have tried was reversing the thermocouple connections as we don’t know the correct connection polarity. Some interfaces care, and some don’t.
