Mostly agree but it enters further into the grey area if we don’t take the simplest of precautions to guard the equipment. If we leave cheap Erlenmeyer flasks out in the open and replenish them whenever they go missing, one could allege that we’re freely furnishing them to our members.

If on the off chance something were ever to go down between us and Johnny Law, or we simply are introducing and explaining who we are to regulators, we’ll be in a better position if we show we aren’t being feckless.

I agree that we’d be better off registering with the state. It shows good faith effort to comply. We have breakage, have donations, and buy equipment. Inventory changes, but if we’ve shown we’re trying to comply with the law that goes a long way. We have classes, we have members using the equipment, so there is a legitimate use for having the equipment.

If we do get inspected: Here it is! No problem.
