I work for BSN Sports in Farmers Branch and my boss was asking if we knew of anyone that would be a good fit for the position. I thought that someone at the space might be interested or know of someone. This is a help desk position and involves maintaining Dell workstations in a Windows environment. Typical duties would involve troubleshooting user issues involving Windows system and applications, printing, network connectivity, system build outs, Active Directory user management (create, password resets, etc…) and any other tasks introduced at the help desk level.
The position is entry level but familiarity with computers, troubleshooting, networking basics and maturity is definitely required. This is not a part-time summer position but intended for those looking to get a start in IT.
Important info: I am not compensated for anyone who applies or is hired. I’m just lpassing the word that a position is available. Actual salary is dependent upon experience but is on par with typical entry level help desk positions. Also, this is a full-time, contracted position and this means that you would be self-employed (1099 instead of W-2). However, we do enjoy paid time off as long as it is not abused.
I can tell you that this is the first job I have had where I do not feel micro-managed. Our boss assigns tasks and checks up on your progress. He may give you a direction to go but I haven’t seen him tell someone how to do their job. He is pretty easy going as long as you don’t try to take advantage of your situation.
