Jim Hartnett and I had an excellent conversation last night regarding both powder coating and issues with our new water blaster.
The water blaster has been performing wonders for some, and has drawn the ire of others like myself.
Good news…the problem has been discovered and resolved!
On the wall near the Metal Shop door by the belt sanders is an air-line with a cut-off tee fitting. Someone unknown has been closing it off to increase air pressure in other parts of DMS. Doing so totally cuts off the air flow to the water blaster. the tell-tale is that the water blaster air pressure will immediately drop to 20psi as soon as you depress the foot switch. If you experience this problem, then open up that air valve near the door.
Jim told me that an updated instruction placard is in work, along with some other changes. He is looking into an alternative (more aggressive) media and possibly a higher pressure nozzle. Also looking into some type of system that will keep the window clean during use.
