Waste recovery from spent PCB etchant

Interesting method to recover pcb etchant

Another one of this gentleman’s videos was recently show on hack-a-day. I have been watching a few of the videos and if you have any interest in chemistry suggest giving them a look.

Wow. I’m glad I switched to Cupric Chloride which has significantly less work required to regenerate and reuse. It also produces zero waste when used for hobbyist board volumes. Once created, it is regenerated with bubbling air only by observing the color. As the solution picks up copper it can be diluted with water (need to measure specific gravity), although at my board volume I’ve never needed to dilute.
