With the freebie shelf gone, if you have a lingering for your copper wire, aluminum or brass to go to a good place i.e. get recycled, I will take it off your hands. I’ve been a commercial scrapper in the past ( paid almost all my college with it), and like doing it as a side hobby. I have to store and keep the material long enough to make a worthwhile trip to the salvage yard. You may not what to drive to the salvage yard for your $2 worth of copper wire.
Also if the company you work at is throwing away lots of wire, I’m interested in picking it up. I have student loans that need paid.
Do you know of some place that has around 22 g copper sheet
like roofing flashing? I use it to make jewelry and I need some
more to use for teaching classes
When I go to salvage yard. Some private family owned places let you buy for market price. I will find you some. Something like $2.75 a lb. I want to be more involved with small jewelry once I get my CNC plasma business off the ground. And in promotion mode.
One of my other hobbies is driving to every salvage yard in dfw and see what cool stuff they have
I also use a lot of copper wire, everything from
fine gauge up to large gauge grounding wire
(they make great bracelets) to smaller gauge
copper tubing,
I got some roofing flashing at Ace in Irving, a couple of
years ago.
Okay. If I buy copper. Who will be paying me? A makerspace credit card. If I buy too much I’ll keep the rest since I want to pursue jewelry. I’m texting my friend who owns a salvage yard in Bowie, Tx to save Copper roof for me
I’ve got a dollar limit not a quantity…Although there’s a limit to what I’ll pay for scrap haha. @Cairenn_Day should get first dibs just let me in on second round and definitely if it’s going to be a steady supply. I can buy at scrap price or do donation reciepts for 2X new market
It took me almost 2 years to use up most of 7 lbs of copper
sheet. That was mostly without teaching classes.
With my vision issues, I am going to need to the the Shapeco (sp)
to do my cutting, this will likely mean that I will use
more copper, I can also use 18 and 20 gauge sheet
Thy make great bracels
