Would anyone like to volunteer to handle disposing of this pallet of 4 ft long flourescent tubes?
These are all old ones that we previously replaced with leds
Are these the ones that @John_Marlow got the disposal boxes for? Or – should I take them with me to the recycling folks?
From what I could tell the recycling boxes still in the warehouse are already full of tubes, I’m not sure what the plan is for those boxes.

If they work post them for free on Craigslist. Will be gone by the end of business
If the box is full, it should be shipped off. There should be a shipping label with it (the boxes are paid disposal and shipping)

Do we know who should be responsible for putting things on Craigslist? OTOH, I think that Patrick has done some stuff like that for the Space…
Starts getting into questions of financial rules, who is allowed to sell stuff, at what market rate, who is eligible to purchase, how to prevent abuse, etc. Which is why I prefer the find a commercial service who we pay to take it and then we bypass all those kinds of questions.
And that assumes they actually work. I don’t think anyone is going to sit and test them.
Remember, these lamps contain a small amount of mercury that requires them to be disposed of as hazardous waste.
Most of those (more than half) are dead. The boxes are prepaid shipping. @mrjimmy had started that process. If you want to help with it, please contact him.

Do we still have more LED bulbs and lamp sockets? I replaced some of the bulbs in the metal shop last winter but there are more that look like the may still be flourescent

I’m officially putting out the BOLO on sockets and wire. If found, let me know where to find them, and/or corral them somewhere. Bulbs are en route, and hoping to get them deployed ASAP. Expect a party invitation soon.
