Video recording of classes / demonstrations

I would like to see someone recording classes or demonstrations that are given, I don’t have the gear to do this myself or I would at least do some.

I am unable to come to the glass bead demonstration tomorrow because of family commitments, could / would someone please record it and post it here? Or at least post it to YouTube and post the link here? I know that there would be a lot of people that would really get a lot of enjoyment being able to see what they could not attend.

I would like to say thank you in advance in the hopes that some nice person would do this for me and the group.

Some of it also depends on the person delivering the presentation. I offered to record other people’s lectures or demonstrations. Nobody said they wanted me to do that for them. Anyway, all I have is a little P&S that shoots video.

I am currently stirring up interest in capturing classes, events and demonstrations on video. Several people have seen me poking around the place. Let me know what you want shot… I will have a Grand Opening video posted this weekend.

The Lemons Race is Feb 28 thru March 1. We may do a practice the weekend before. If someone will do video from outside, we have Go Pros mounted inside. Would make an awesome promotional video. Contact Brandon Green or me for location and access.

Remind me a little closer to the date. I do not have HD video, but the camera is good enough for posting on youtube. I since that there is a new camera in my future…just don’t know if it will be that soon…

I’d like to have a video recorded (time-lapse would be cool) of our deep cleaning of the Gold Wings pinball game playfield. I’m not sure when that’ll be, though, as Stacy is out of pocket to help with that this week & probably next week.

Let me know where and when. I’d really like to see these projects video’d & archived…I will be posting more after the Grand Opening to spark members to add videotaping to their pre-planning of projects. Their are some great stories that are walking in and out of the Space (like the 3D prosthetic finger) that could have been great leverage reaching out to the community and beyond. I will be very focused on building that capability and mindset after the Grand Opening. I LOVE THIS PLACE. (we now return you to your normally scheduled programming…)

The 24 Hours of Lemons is in 2 1/2 weeks. Could someone meet with us tomorrow, Wednesday, night to discuss making a video? If we need press passes, or bribes for the officials, we need time to arrange money.

If the time does not work, please pick one that does. Thanks.

Thanks for pinging me about the race. Does 7:00p work for you?

Recorded videos can be stored on the file server. If they are training or classes please put them in the committee folders. There’s something like 14TB of space so there’s plenty of room to take advantage of this kind of thing. The hostname of the file server is just “files” and has full guest access.

If all the classes are recorded and stored to 14 TB, we will be out of space in about a year, plus-or-minus several months. At the most, three years. Just FYI.

Then we’ll expand it. It’s ZFS on Linux so it can scale in the same namespace pretty much infinitely (as far as we’re concerned). I challenge people to fill it up with recordings of classes. That would be a nice problem to have.

I’ll do my best! But, I could use a much better camera; you know, if the Space would happen to buy one…

Are they still running the Lemons Race given the weather? I have several people who were planning to come film, but not sure if we’re still on…
