Creative arts will be hosting a smaller show in the creative arts room during the month of July - a vessel show. This includes wood bowls, 3d printed bowls, ceramic and “other”
This will be need to be small so works will be selected (we just have the two shelves to display" I will have more information out soon but I wanted to seed the waters.
Hi Nicole! I may have missed the deadline for contributing to the vessel show, but what would you think about me bringing this? (There will be one more lidded vessel on the pedestal inside the box). It is 12" tall by 8" wide by 2" deep. I would prefer it displayed with the glass cover closed. Everything will be secured (from sliding) inside with “museum wax”.
You did say, “it needs to be small”
Seriously, if it’s too late, it’s not a big deal.
Chris
How on earth did you make those??? Awesome work.
Thanks. I have a Taig micro-lathe, and for the segmented pieces I glued together lots of little pieces. The speckled pot is a nut.
Chris
Great job. I want to try my hand at throwing miniature pots, but I have a hunch it may just be a spectacular failure. lol
Love the Taig! 12345
HOLY HECK CHRIS!!!
I want your work to be seen! To be fair to all I’ve put up a poll in the Dallas Makerspace Creative Arts page on facebook to ask if we should (universally accept late work) I think it’s important to see a consensus from the group. I want your work to be seen (and drooled on) and we currently have no true rules on submission but I also want to sit down and establish a norm for DMS art shows (as we have MANY to come).
I’ve allowed for 24 hours of voting on the topic and I will get back to you - I’m trying to be fair I hope you understand that.
I’m TOTALLY blown away!
If anyone is interested in putting in a vote please follow the link:
I absolutely understand and I will go with whatever the group decides. Thanks!
Committee chairs at the space are benevolent dictators. They don’t need consesus. That said, I vote to let him display!
Things are looking pretty good. We have 12 votes to the “include Chris” and zero to the no.
But I’m giving it 24 hours.
I wanted to let people have a say because it will probably effect a bunch of shows (unless it becomes an issue).
And I do look good in dictator grey so hmmmm I will think about the arm of Franczvai decision making for the future.
If there is money involved, then no. For a display, if there is space, I say it’s up to the committee chair to decide on an individual basis.
