We had a fascinating discussion about the construction of a new TV mount to place in the VECTOR area in order to finally utilize our TV. We had plans proposed by Shawn and Jim for how to best do this.

  • Shawn proposed using a large piece of plywood (4’ x 4’) bolted to the side of two cabinets with 3/8" bolts and fender washers.
  • Jim proposed using angle iron to fasten the two cabinets together, and then use 2x4’s bolted into the side of the cabinets on which to hang the TV mount. Since plywood is thin layers, such weight may strain and fracture the tiny layers, but not a solid piece of wood.

Anyone is welcome to chime in on this discussion! :tv:

Here are the proposed minutes. Please let me know if you see any errors or omissions. They will become ratified after 10 days elapses.

Attendees: Stephen, Oscar, Kobin Caddick, Jim Hartnett, Chuck, Raymond

7:05 - call to order. Discuss seeking reimbursement for three items:

  • a new lift cart to replace the one Shawn Christian had on loan for a while but finally reclaimed
  • materials for building Evaporust tanks
  • materials for building a TV mount to hang our TV from the side of our two center cabinets that are next to each other

Quite a bit of discussion ensued on this item, relating to the best way to construct the TV mount. Depending on the final size and visibility, we may wish for an artistic touch – VECTOR logo, graphic, or at least extra paint.

7:20 - Personal project updates.

  • New item is Kobin’s synthesizer.
  • Discussed various fabrication techniques now available to us at DMS, such as powder coating.
  • It was desired to have Evan the Pinsmith out to DMS to fix games. He charges a 2-hour minimum, so it’s best to have several games for him to work on at once. We will discuss the timing of Evan’s visit through our communication channels.

7:40 - Go to VECTOR area to continue discussing the TV mount and other infrastructure items, and show remote participants the area by camera. Kobin offered to replace the non-functional ceiling light in the VECTOR area.

7:55 - Adjourn.
