I see that there are still some spots available for the upcoming vinyl cutter training classes.
As I recall, @Adam_Oas starts the class with a quick demonstration of how to convert a simple picture into a vector using Inkscape, so this class is a great way to get started.

Not that I couldn’t, but the new vinyl cutter has it’s own vectorizing software, so we don’t use Inkscape anymore.
As an FYI the AM course is full, but there are a few spots left in each of the 12:30, 3:30 & 5:30 classes.

Some takeaways from today:

I think that I could have handled at least one more class for today. I’ve taught this class enough times that I have it down to almost exactly 1.5 hours, and also have a bit of a skill for talking. It’d obviously be up to the individual instructor to know how many they could handle.

For a Saturday series of classes, the AM (10:30 class) filled first, with the other 3 (12:30, 3:30 & 5:30) filling at approximately the same rate as each other. The AM had spaces for close to a week, whereas the other 3 were all either just filled in the last day or had a space open.

Even though this was a free class, meaning that the students had exactly zero skin in the game, they were all generally well attended. I had a few no-shows for the 12:30 class, but made a last minute announcement over the speaker system, and had a few people jump in.

I might have had enough interest to stretch into another class, but seeing as there was at no point (or only for a short period) not at least one class that had a seat available, I feel as if I have relieved a good portion of the backlog. Not that everyone was available on a Saturday, nor this particular Saturday, but with ~40 people put through I think we’ll see even more use of the machine.

Purple classroom needs better sun shading for the afternoon. It’s really hard to see the screen when the sun is shining in the windows.
