Matt Kiem teaches woodturning in many places. we are bless to have him as a member now. Currently, he works mostly with bowls, but also lidded boxes and more. Get into one of his classes if you can. Until then, check out these videos featuring him.

In this video, he uses the David Ellsworth gouge. Matt has since changed to a similar gouge, but one less likely to catch.

In addition to Matt, another great turner, Jimmy Arledge from the Dallas Area Turners guild, has joined the MakerSpace. Jimmy has kindly donated many tools, and has a lot of knowledge to contribute.

I took one of Matt’s classes on bowl turning. He’s a great instructor and very fun to learn from. We are very fortunate to have him at DMS. He makes some beautiful bowls and turned boxes.
