Trebuchet Class - Saturday 18th 5-9pm *Ordering Kits*

@brianbterry and I are teaching a class on Trebuchets this Saturday from 5-9pm, I will be ordering a few kits for anyone that wants to build and launch their own trebuchet. These kits are pretty easy to put together and a lot of fun. Only one person signed up for the eventbrite so I can’t order the kits yet. IF you want to join this class, please let me know by the end of the day today (6/14/16) so I can order more kits.

Order the kits here: $Sci_Trebuchet Building Workshop Tickets, Sat, Jun 18, 2016 at 5:00 PM | Eventbrite

This class is brought to you by the Science Committee, if you are interested make sure you go to the meeting tonight at 7.

i’ll be there (20 characters or more)

I’ll be there and bringing my daughter…ordered 2 kits…

Wish me and my kiddo could make it, but we have the star wars symphony thing that evening :frowning: hopefully next time!!

@themitch22 and @brianbterry: I signed up via eventbrite earlier today, ordering one kit. Then I saw your comment in this thread about needing signups by deadline of last night. Did I create a problem? Am I (my son actually) still good to go?

You are covered. I have 5 kits ordered and 4 tickets sold. I’m getting them
in amazon so I got 2 days so I made today the cutoff.

I ordered a few extra kits in case my family comes to the class. I’m totally glad that we’re getting kids involved in science at the space. I think this will be a good starter maker project for all ages.

@themitch22: I considered getting two, but only got one, because only one of my two candidate kids is certain. If you still have a kit left at the last minute I might take it off your hands (via cash onsite or paypal), but certainly don’t wait for my fuzzy non-commitment.

I’ts ok, I figure that not everyone will want to keep the finished trebuchet. i will probably donate my finished one.

I noticed from the picture that you are using a different kit than the one I built.

If you have one left over after the class, I will buy it from you.

Yeah I decided to go with this kit because it was a lot simpler and closer to a traditional trebuchet. Also I was able to put it together in less than an hour with the wood glue setting. http://www.oaklandballistics.com/#!trebuchet/c24xd
