Has there been any discussion regarding members who had previously taken and paid for the class for the previous Plasma Cutter machine?
Where does the monthly membership paid by each member goes towards?

We have discussed it, we still stick with the 5$ fee for the class even if you have taken the plasmacam class. We do try to keep consumables in good working order with that money. As well as it will be going towards the maintenance on the machine.

The new Plasma Cutter is not in any way analogous to the old one. The software is entirely different. Being trained on one doesn’t constitute being trained on the other. takes teachers to teach the updated class The $5 fee one paid for the the training on the old one was not a lifetime subscription.
The monthly membership doesn’t cover tool specific training. I can provide details on the breakdown of monthly membership fees, but maybe someone from finance or the BoD can.

Honestly I would have hoped no-one would even justify this complaining with a reply.
If you don’t have $5 for the class, then you don’t have $50/month (soon to be $60/month) for the membership, and you don’t have ~$30 for metal to cut on it.
It’s $5. Carry on.
