Try ringing the doorbell or knocking on one of the back doors by the ramps, there is usually someone who cam help you out
thank you! will do.
do you know what times i can get a key fob?
Since we don’t have staff, just random volunteers, there isn’t really a specific good time, other than 10 am - noon Saturdays. I’ll probably be around 2-3 pm tomorrow and Wednesday.
@shabbyeels It’s usually pretty easy to find someone to help you setup your keyfob on weekend afternoons/evenings, or weekday evenings. Try the front doorbell, if that doesn’t work try knocking on the back doors by the docks, or wait patiently in the front or back lot till someone arrives.
Keep posting on this thread when you are free the next day or two, your schedule might coincide with someone else, who also took the time to read this thread.
If you look at calendar.dallasmakerspace.org you can see when classes start and come 20 minutes before a class and have a pretty good chance of catching someone going in. Most people for woodshop, glass, machine shop, ceramics park in the back lot. Automotive meets thursday nights.
You will need to sign the waiver at one of the kiosks before you can activate your keyfob.
I could meet wed or thur lunchtime this week.
As Beth pointed out we have no paid staff so there is no one with set hours to answer phones or doorbells. It will feel very odd not to have employees to interact with your first few months. Everything is run by committee volunteers, try to attend the meetings, once you make a few friends it is much easier to figure out how the space works and wont be as intimidating as it probably seems right now just trying to get through the locked doors.
awesome thanks! i’m at the space now knocking on the door & waiting for someone.
Well did you get in?
