A long while back there was a tool sharpening class for planes, chisels, etc. but I wasn’t able to go due to other commitments. I was wondering if there were any plans for (or even interest in) another one?
I know the basics of it, but I’m always hesitant to try and sharpen the communal tools at the shop because I don’t want to screw up the angles they’re set at. Plus it’s all self taught so it’d be interesting to have a class from someone who has a bit more experience with what works and what doesn’t.
Good idea, I helped Alex sharpen some chisels, I could probably teach this class. Alex, next we cross paths at the space, let me give you the 5 minute run down to make sure I’m not missing anything. With one side ground blades like chisels and planers, it is basic. Take your time and keep your edge flat, some truing of the back of the blade if needed.
