Tonight we have several people following the parking example of our “Space Shuttle”
At the top, the black rectangle is where the DMSMS Space Shuttle is parked (not in a parking space, since July 13, blocking several parking spaces). Below it is a red rectangle where a white Toyota pickup is parked… following the Space Shuttle example by not parking in a parking place.
Below it is a red minivan with a trailer (two red rectangles together), taking up 3 parking spaces, and below it is a white rectangle representing the blacksmithing trailer… Which should be parked in the offsite storage where we are paying $100/mo to store it.
Below the ramp, the light blue rectangle represents a silver VW blocking the loading bay and the two parking spaces nose to nose. And finally the dark blue rectangle represents a blue chevy pickup that pulled all the way in… where his nose prevents parking in the spot in front of him.
The large yellow rectangle represents a large RV that is working on its generator… the only one of the bad parkers that had a reasonable reason for being parked like that.
I’m thinking of hosting a “Remedial Parking for Makers” class… It seems to be needed.
I’ve never seen it not parked in the back. The issue I believe is getting someone to tow it.
@dallasmagna Chuck Graf intends to put a hitch on Space mobile, which should be able to tow it back and forth as well as the trailer they are getting for the Lemons car.
How far away is the storage location? I can tow it there tonight. Seems like a waste of space to have the trailer blocking the parking for months while the classes are not being taught due to the heat of summer.
The actual location is almost directly across from where our storage unit is, you can see the gray outline that goes from Keenan Bridge Road to All Dogs Unleashed… It an open parking area, You’ll see a tall, probably 12’ high fence.
This is an old photo, does even show our storage or the JIB, but you can see storage yard.
Well, Chuck and I attempted to move the trailer. But my hitch is mounted to Low to accommodate the lift Jack.
So the trailer remains, warning if you want to move the trailer in the future, bring wd40 and a Jack to help. Because the screw Jack had gotten a bit rusted and locks up hard under load.
I am planning on being there tomorrow evening for the Multicam class. If someone with authority and access to storage is gong to be there and willing ride along I can tow it either before or after my class if you guys want.
Thanks for the head up on that… I only have std 2". If someone has a receiver hitch with 2 5/16" ball we can borrow, it would probably need to have a 3"+ drop as my truck is slightly lifted.
