Only one person contacted me for a little simple fun tie dye experience I put up on the calendar. The aim was to gather people just for a fun little experience. I know tie dye doesn’t get everyone excited but I thought it could be something to get the kiddos out and about. I bought everything in anticipation of a moderately sized crowd. If you would like to show up - providing your own shirts, socks, under-roos or other things you just come right ahead and we can dye it for free. I want to be up at the space to make sure the painting is finished up so I thought I would do the class and finish the touches after.
Let me know if you intend on showing up or just show up. The class is slotted for 6-8p in the interactive room tomorrow.
Maybe up the game to Batik. Maybe even use vinyl masks to apply the wax.
It’s worth a shot with the vinyl - I’m open to it. I’ll give it a shot. I’m not sure it will stop the bleed of the dye. Anyways.
Meant use vinyl as mask for the wax so you get good edge. Dye would definitely bleed under.
I don’t think I have plans tomorrow, so I would be down to join. I may have some soda ash hiding somewhere that I would be happy to bring as well if you think it’s needed.
I didn’t initially sign up because payday is the day AFTER tomorrow so I’m saving my pennies for emergency snacks LOL
Come on down. I have everything we need. I packed a skirt and an experimental art sheet my son was playing with to rip up and enjoy. No pressure just for fun.
And fun it was!! My ceramics apron will never be the same again woowoo!

I now have more tye dyed fabric in my possession than I ever imagined owning. I guess I need to bust out my sewing machine in the near future!
Hail to the hippies in all of us. Thanks for coming out -good times had by all. We will do it again-just for a fun thing to experience. It’s nice to unwind and just play around sometimes with something lighthearted.
Thanks to everyone who painted yet another corner of Dms tonight. I will be the first to tell you that it’s a big change. I hope you enjoy the freshened walls- might be a bit industrial in feel -but we will soon get artwork up to brighten the eyes of many. I, for one, can’t wait.
@Eric_Brunner stepped up and saved my thighs by painting up near the ceiling, @missydee1206 (totally new but getting right in it) and boyfriend jumped in to help paint, @mreynolds @bscharff and @LisaSelk were screwdriver duty. Much love to all of you.
