Thunder laser shows as down on the tool status page since 11/27? Can anyone let me know if it’s still down?
As of last night the blower relay was still not functional. I left the new solid state relay and the old relay on top of the laser. I will get to it soon (unless someone beats me to it) but I just ran out of steam last night and didn’t do much with it.
@lukeiamyourfather is it still okay for manual operation, i.e. turning on the blower before cutting.
Not really, it’s plugged into a circuit with other stuff on it like the Zing and computers. This is why it kept blowing the circuits a week or two ago. I’d rather people not use it in this state because it’s so easy to forget turning the blower on and other people seeing you cut might think there’s nothing wrong with the machine and go to use it themselves not knowing they have to turn the blower on. Unlike the other lasers it’s not setup with a safety interlock if the blower isn’t turned on. It’s up to @patrickpleez1 as the chairperson.

Thanks for the update. I can wait also. I was only going to use it to trim down some plywood for use on the Zing anyway, but I can use my tablesaw instead. FWP.

If someone wants to use thunder, and people remember to manually turn the blower on and off, it’ll be fine. I have no issue. Please don’t burn down DMS.

If you insist. - Seriously though, thanks, I’ll be sure manually turn the blower on and off when I’m there tomorrow morning. Using the laser will makethings much easier for my project.
