If anyone has been using the miter saw to make cuts as of late (it’s actually been like this for a while) for cutting rough stock or even s4s you’ve probably noticed that the saw can have kickback quite often.
This isn’t a result of blade sharpness or your cut (sliding vs chop). The saw fence is not properly aligned with the cabinet fence. As long as the saw fence is behind or not square to the cabinet ‘fence’ you will have a pinch effect which is caused by the blade cutting through most of the material then the resulting stock flexing or bending and pinching the blade.
For the sake of safety and cleaner cuts, let’s fix this. We’ve tried before. Either scrap the the old fence and lets move the miter saw out for new screw holds or build something new that’s safer.
