The car gremlins are back

So my car (the Grand Am from a few weeks ago that threw the rocker head push rods) randomly lost power in the middle of the freeway and died. After an… ordeal getting it home, I managed to isolate the problem to either the battery, alternator, or fusible link. Tested the battery, battery was dead. Replaced the battery, the issue appeared again, tested the wires for shorts or loose connections, nothing. Got the alternator tested at three different places, working perfectly. Reinstalled the alternator, the car no longer has the problem. Conclusion: my car is possessed; does anyone have the number of a Catholic priest?

Likely the control connector for the alternator was not correctly seated/connected. In the old days it would have been the field lead, but with internal regulators, the extra pins are usually just ignition on, and maybe remote voltage sense, or fault signaling.
