Greetings! I was in the CA room last night an noticed the screen is up. Is this (or will it) be connected to a VCR/DVD? If so I have some craft related DVDs and tapes I can donate. Some will be of special interest to the leather SIG since they range from saddle making to holsters to chinks and other projects. I’m sure I have some other craft videos as well. So if you’re planning on starting a library/collection of videos just let me know and I’ll get a list together for you guys.
Cheers!
If I remember correctly the main reason CA got the tv was to show upcoming events and list various things about makerspace. So a Google Chromecast stick was ordered.
But I like your suggestion about a dvd library related to Creative Arts. @uglyknees what do you think? Maybe someone could donate a dvd player?
Ugh, I will order that today I tried to order it via amazon and they didn’t have it and dropped the ball. I’m down for art videos.
I think the TV will become a great asset to the classes with showing pictures, short videos, and having upcoming classes posted with a bit of advertisement.
For some of the classes like the leather working where we all need to see what the instructor is trying to demo without climbing on top of them and everyone else, can we connect that monitor up to a camera on a tripod…if it’s a smart one, can we share to if via bluetooth or that wifi direct stuff? I’m such a techie…NOT!
This is a great question to as digital media. Hopefully they can hook us up. I have a tabletop camera in my classroom that is hooked to the projector. It’s helpful to a point but you don’t have much space. We could get one if that could help. I’ve also seen FaceTime videos synched with the screen so you have flexibility in the camera angles/size
Yeah…I can “share” video between my Samsung phone or Samsung tablet and my TV…but the TV is smart so I don’t have to understand how that all works ya know!
Ok I ordered a Chromecast for the TV so we will get that up and going as soon as possible
