Thanks to all that gave the Air Force One team leader a warm welcome

Thanks Chris(president) and others, for the warm welcome as I brought a friend/guest in for a look at the DMS. She was in town the last few days working for this afternoon’s arrival:
Below - Name that plane!

Here the leader of the free world signed a school girl’s poster that read " Playing hooky to see the President"
My guest/family member that was visiting the Space - She was thoroughly amazed with the DMS!

He was flying the small commuter plane today. Almost looks like Trumps 757 … did he loan it to the US and they painted it?

Nice outreach work, Tom! Tell her to get us a grant!

It is the 757 in the presidential fleet - I toured it a few years ago when Biden landed at Carswell. Nicely outfitted(probably not as nice at Trump’s private 757) but this one has a better defense and slightly higher take off and landing priority.

Marshall, positive visits like hers never hurt…I think I swayed her view toward Vector, CA, and Automotive of course. The 10 x 10 art was a huge hit.

It was nice to see the President bypass his limo and walk over to us and say hello, shake hands and bend down to talk to the children, sign the poster etc. He took the time to sign things and you could tell the secret service was trying to keep him moving, but he was taking time to see the guests(us) that were there.

It was a good experience - just thought I’d share.

I’ve heard Trumps private 757 is very nicely outfitted.

Back in the good ol’ days, Braniff had 747 service from Love Field. Upper right in the pic shows the “Flying Colors of Braniff” gates, big orange 747 present.

In the early 70s Braniff started flying an orange 747 into Love Field. Bachman Lake area would be packed as many of us went out just to watch it come in. A true quantum jump from the 707s of the day.

My dad worked for Braniff. On really hot days they would take bets if Fat Albert’s tires would touch the fence at the end of the runway on the North end of the airport.
