All gave some, some gave all.

Many years ago, as part of my commissioning process, my graduating class flew to Andrews AFB and then toured the many monuments in DC as well as the Capital and the National Mall. As we were visiting the Vietnam Memorial, one of my classmates and good friends walked past a part of the wall and spotted his brother’s name on the wall. I was greatly moved that day, as were most of my classmates. Many men and women gave their lives in Vietnam, and some are still there as POWs/MIA’s. We should remember all of them on this Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is always a very somber day for me, as I remember those who gave their lives for the freedoms I enjoy every day. While I served for 30 years in the USAF/ANG and served in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, I consider it nothing when compared to those men and women who gave it all in the service for their country. They are the true heroes we should remember.

I pray for their families, who are certainly missing them, especially on this Memorial Day.

Thank you for posting this reminder for this holiday.

Yesterday at my local Lowe’s store they had full size flags from the 5 branches of the military at the front of each aisle.

This veteran appreciates the display and the support!
