The annual “State Fair of Pinball” has arrived! This year, VECTOR will have its own booth at TPF and at least 12 games to promote the Dallas Makerspace. C’mon out… it’s a helluva event!
Over 450 games expected.
Ben Heck will return to with his “America’s Most Haunted” game and discuss pinball tech.
New games, new technology by Multimorphic.
LED lights and parts vendors.
A maelstrom of light and sound and geekery.
Pay one price, play all day!
I will be bringing 9 games to the Texas Pinball Festival this year. Slick Chick will be in the VECTOR booth and the rest will be in the DFW Pinball & Arcade Club booth.
I am one of the two floor managers for the show so I will have my hands full with all of the logistics of helping put on one of the largest pinball shows in the world… Not quite ready for it myself but looking forward to the show.
The DFW Pinball & Arcade Club is also hosting the swap meet in the parking lot on Saturday morning. If you are looking to buy or sell any coin-op arcade or gameroom items please come check it out.
@MellissaRhodes If you could do the same for the Blog, this would make a post. Plus, we will have pictures of the event after for a good follow up post for both the blog and the facebook page.
Thanks everyone for you effort to get here. We did it and we are going to make a splash!
If you don’t have tickets yet, you can buy them at the door.
@Nick, I’ll try to write up a blog post within the next couple days. I’ll probably send it to you first to make sure I’m covering all the necessary details.
The event went better than I think anyone in VECTOR expected. We had 2 best of show awards, @rablack97’s Mortal Kombat Arcade machine won Best Arcade Machine and @nickdangerous and I won Best 70s EM for the restoration and alternative paint job of Snow Derby. @Shawn_Christian won a Second Place ribbon for Time Warp and Nick Dangerous won a Second Place ribbon for Freedom. Also, Paul Wilson found out that he was a minor celebrity for his work on his Polynesian/Tiki re-theme of a Student Prince as many event goers where searching him out all event long after seeing some of the posts he has made about the machine. The VECTOR members were barraged with questions of restoration techniques, custom build plans and design ideas. Also. fellow DMS member @Raymond did well with his booth at the show, ArcadeComponents.com. We really made a splash this year as VECTOR and DMS was spoken of through out the show.
We also had the support of many DMS members at the show. Speaking of support, @ESmith made a hug contribution in helping setup and break down the booth. @engpin also gave up much of his prep time pre-organizing the event. @macapaka was invaluable in wrangling the flyers for the booth as well.
I hope that run down helps you with the blog post Mel and we hired a Professional Photographer to help document the event as, so once those pictures come in I’ll try to get a few together for you.
BTW… Robin of Pinside (founder) will be visiting DMS today around 6pm onward after seeing our display at TPF. I will be there along with Nick Sainz and a few others to give him a tour. C’mon out this evening if you can.
