Teaching Classes again

It maybe never transferred to the wiki, but I remember long discussions at board meetings about how long before posting to calendar the total time would be. It moved back and forth, the 6.5 days was some compromise IIRC by Steve Blanchard. It is somewhere in BoD minutes about 4 years ago.

We would need some new molds, but I could build those too.

Send me a DM on what you need to make scale molds and I’ll see what I can do as well if you’d like.

Wasn’t it made a while ago that the committees don’t have individual funds anymore as well, and it’s all just general now? Did we change that back/are we trying to change that back?

I use HDPE cutting boards from Sam’s and tend to do all of the work in the woodshop, but I do know HDPE is laser-able. Id have to sit down and do the math but we might be able to get 4 molds out of one sheet. I will get back to you.

These are by no means finished but using what is known as the stock removal process I’ve started three knives from some saw blades I got from @Lloyd_Plum a while back. I cut them using a cut off wheel on a hand grinder and then worked on the edges on the KMG. Clearly there is a lot of work remaining especially on the cutting edges, but you get the idea. I cut some bolivian rosewood handles for them last weekend, too.

They are a simple attempt at some stock removal knives.

Committees have individual budgets, the donations are added on top of the budgets/carried over if they’re unused.

Sounds like a multi discipline track to me. Love it. My only condition is that my son have a spot because he REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to learn working metal.

I miss you too Mark
