I see that the Felder is down, but I have a time sensitive project to finish that involves the table saw and mitre saw. Is it ok to use or should I stay away from it?
Maybe you could use the shop vac for dust collection?
(disclaimer: Not A Woodshop Person)
Miter saw can always be used as it is a festool and meant to be connected to one of their vaccums just make sure to plug it into the vacuum and not the wall
The Felder was running when I left it at 8:30. I did have to do some repairs to it, it decided it was going to single phase itself.
In the past, when the Felder is down everything connected to the dust collection is considered down. The committee chair @IanLee has the last word though…
We have a hard enough time just getting people to use the brooms and trash cans when the Felder is running, I would hate to see the place after a couple of hours of use without it.
The miter saw was never actually engineered to be setup how we have it, it was setup to run just as the hand sanders, so really the proper way to use it would be independent from the felder so if hooked to a vacuum unit, it should still be up and usable
is up to @team_woodshop
oh ok, so are the hand sanders down and unusable as well?
Hand sanders aren’t connected to the Felder, so they’re not affected.
Yea they use festool vacuums exactly as the miter saw was meant to be connected to, but since we have it hooked up to the felder I agree it’s up to woodshop committee to deam it usable or not, but does anybody know the issue with the felder, is it electrical or mechanical
It’s the air assist. I believe that we’re currently operating at a limited capacity, but that put most things back in operation.
Oh ok, is that compressor fed or does it do it itself, ie is it related to the compressor issue currently or an issue with the unit separately
Related to the compressor issue.
Thanks for backing me up!
