Swapping an undercounter sink

I have an undercounter sink I’m debating swapping because it’s a “split” basic and each is effectively too small to be useful to me.

It’s mounted to white quartz/fake granite. It has grey goop where it meets the counter and some plywood screwed at an angle to tension it. I haven’t picked at it yet since it’s up there and I don’t want to disturb it yet, but I’m guessing the grey goop is come kind of epoxy.

What’s it take to swap a sink link this? I don’t know how strong that epoxy typically is / proper cleanup on countertops. I’ve heard it has to be ground off but unsure if there are other options since I don’t want to risk the counter.

Dont be too concerned about harming the stone. Just hold your grinder flat. You could also just cut those off flush and add others. As you see, the counter top installers tend rig the supports. Some build cradles out of 2x4’s. Very few actually use the proper brackets.

Products to be go from.

Brackets vary with sink design, hence the wood and screw shortcut.

For folks that might be wondering what is being discussed, this is an example of the method the granite installers used to hold an under-mount sink to the counter top. The picture is shot upwards from under the sink. You wouldn’t expect to find this in a finer home. This sink was being replaced with a farm house one.

Everything homeboy @SWA said is right. You should find sink clips, but that’s the way it is.
