Supplier of Specialty Heat Shrink Tubing?

So I’m in need of Adhesive Lined 4mm ID Shrink Tubing with a shrink ratio of 4 to 1 or better. I can find this in black only from Mouser which I’ve already ordered. But, I would ideally like the tubing in a translucent Grey or Clear if possible. Do any of you know of a supplier I can get this from? Other colors would be interesting as well. The ID can be larger if the shrink tubing has a higher shrink ratio.

Thank you for the help,
Nick

Nick,

You may also try “Raychem” products - I used them often when I was in the aviation world.

Look @ West Marine. They use it to seal marine terminations.

That is only 3:1, and so for most places I need 3:1 glue lined, I usually go to altex and get it cheaper. The higher ratio stuff is harder to find and more expensive.

Thanks everyone,

I appreciate the links as they have been helpful, though I haven’t found the perfect option of clear or translucent grey yet. My mouser order did show up today.

Here is what I ordered,

Never realized how specialized the more than 2:1 shrink tubing was. It seems you are lucky to even find options with a higher ratio, especially at the small diameter I’m talking about.

If you are wondering what I need shrink tubing for, I’m rebuilding some Spider Leg Shafts for my darts. Here is a picture of the finished product.

I’m rebuilding rather than buying new, because these are not made as good as they were back in the day. As I would tend to break my sets from robin hooding the darts multiple times. But, now they are separating at the large end of the shrink tubing and the wires and shrink tubing just fall out before they have even been hit. I’m guessing that they just got crappier shrink tubing and I’m hoping this stuff from mouse will hold tighter.

EDIT:
I think I found something close that may work from @TLAR’s link to Raychem.

Here is the item,

and here is where I got it from Digikey

So hopefully I have clear 4mm shrink tubing with a 4:1 shrink ration coming in the mail.
It doesn’t have the adhesive, but I’m willing to give it a try for the cool clear look and worst case I can add a drop of super glue to keep it on the threads.

Thanks All

If that doesn’t work for you, might try Dunbar. http://www.hstubing.com/quick-selection-chart.php

I see they have a 4:1 dual wall adhesive clear. I’m not sure if they sell to the public though (I’m QM at a wire harness factory)
