Paul; correct me if this is wrong, but Snowmix looks like it is not available as a compiled package. It appears to be run using a script, after manually installing dependencies.
And when you talk video editing feel free to remove the words Raspberry Pie. Live Trans-coding with 2 or more sources is taxing on even modern machines.
Robert, this looks fantastic! I am trying to implement some free solutions for classrooms. I have gotten a ton of questions surrounding this. Snowmix is interesting as well. I wonder if we can do some basic webcast in the DM room until we get some industry standard tools.
Hello Chuck - Thank you for the information! I am looking more for an automated solution. We have members who want to teach and record their lectures, but may not have volunteers to shoot and edit the footage.
I wanted something that the instructors could run on their own (press the record button), and can learn to edit and post. Or get get assistance from another member.
But Open Shot and Sudacity are interesting Open Source Solutions. Hope that a knowledgeable member begins teaching the basics of these editing packages.

This gives their space tremendous outreach to a worldwide audience. Also helps foster greater exposure for various committees and adds value to local organizations.
