Stop blocking the fire exits

This negates the purpose of an emergency exit. Stop blocking the exit with the saw horse

My guess is it’s to break the habit to keep the alarm from being set off.

Is there something like police tape, but saying “Emergency Exit Only” available?

I have some danger tape. But most people ignore it anyway.

I was doing an install at a Rec center. There were signs all over that they were closed and a GIANT 250 ton crane setup. People still went around the caution and danger tape asking if they were open.

Calling @richmeyer

I want my sawhorse back for the woodshed!

Wondered where the pair went!

There are several words on the door itself already that indicate it is not a normal exit and things might get really loud if you open the door.

Maybe just ban everyone who opens the door? I mean, if they cannot follow those directions I don’t think they really can safely operate most of the tools in the space.

The other is probably still in creative arts.

those emergency exit decals look weird. i can imgine people occasionaly having a hard time reading them. if i wasn’t paying attention at night i’d defintiely trip that door’s alarm

plain red backing with white letters needs to be used.

the use of negative space lettering and lettering of the same color on both sides of the glass is just kinda messy.

we have a decal cutter. this could be resolved in a flash.

if you see how sufficently LOUD these signs are with absolutely no ambiguity

Go for it.

Ban?? Wow. Really took it off the deep end. Maybe a warning if the alarm goes off, 2nd time a suspension, 3rd time a little harsher.

Yall really like to just throw out the blanket ban button huh?

I returned the sawhorse in CA to the woodshop last week

Or maybe just not tolerate those that believe the rules don’t apply to them.

Got 'em with that vomit emoji!

Sounds pretty socialist

Okay now . . . back on target again.

If you want some nice looking signs for the Fire Exits then how about someone volunteering some time and make them. All we need is someone who knows how to use the vinyl cutter and about 30 minutes of their time. Check with me for supplies, most of the time I am in the Expansion Group Conference Room off the Common Room.

It is really a shame that DMS has the resources and talent available to get the job done right. Somebody, anybody, please step forward and volunteer your time for the betterment of DMS.

If no volunteers than I’ll purchase the official signage using your DMS money. That should make the Finance folks happy when they see the bill.

I’m reminded of this Mitch Hedberg Joke. Lol

I’ll make them on Saturday. I drew a sign that has ADA-compliant font, character size/stroke, spacing, etc.
