Steam cleaner existence?

I just tossed this under General because I wasn’t overly confident where exactly to put this topic. Creative arts maybe?
But anyways, on to the question!

I have a pair of chairs here that have a couple stands on them and I would like to try to steam clean them before I just break down and reupholster them (not much experience there and it sounds like a headache, LOL).
So, would that in mind, do we have a steam cleaner anywhere up there?

We’ve got a small one in Sewing. Well, it’s a steamer. It should be in the embroidery cabinet.

Awesome!
Ill check it out the next time I’m there.

Sewing has a clothing steamer- this just makes steam to get the wrinkles out of clothes.
It is not a Bissell spot bot. It doesn’t vacuum dirty water back out.

If you’re taking the fabric off of the chairs, you can always get it dry cleaned once it is removed.

True.
I was more looking at trying to clean them first and if that didn’t work, try to reupholster them.

They didn’t cost me anything, so im not out much if i fail all the way around, lol

Steam by itself isn’t going to help and could actually set the stains. You want a “steam” cleaner that uses warm water and vacuum. Like a small Bissel or similar.

Automotive Upholstery cleaner can do a respectable job.
