Sourcing aluminum roundstock

Does anybody know where a good place to get 8 to 10 in of solid aluminum round stock would be? This needs to be an alloy that can be relatively easily machined.

what diameter? up to 1.5" is easy to find though it might be a little longer in size at Metals4u and maybe even at CDC surplus. Large diameter drops 2,3,4+" get pricey and I’d give ebay a looksy.
Most are 6061 and easy to machine.

Just 1". It’s a modified version of a washer that I’m making, so I can use it to hold some furniture together

Something like that. Since I can’t seem to find those for sale solo

gas’ll cost more than that to DIY…

Also, many furniture manufacturers will replace parts, sometimes free. If you search their websites, you might find. Ikea also has these at their service counter.

In all seriousness, if you’re hard over on making these yourself, you can order the stock from Grainger.

Now, after all the laughing dies down … I’d like to point out that when you can use one of the precut sizes that Grainger carries, they’re actually cheaper than places like MetalSupermarket.

You can used the Pasma & Volstro to make it say out of 1” stock worst case.
