(also @Team_3D_Fab )
I’m slowly gathering info and stuff and gumption to build this:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:169615 (Laser-cut Mendel 90)
and it looks like melamine-coated MDF is a possible material for the frame parts
Is there anywhere locally to buy this material? I know Home Depot has half-inch or 3/8 “melamine” shelf material but it’s more like particle board with a rough surface.
Ooo a Mendel90 I am very familiar with that. I had the same problem. I
would give either Regal or Allied plastics and see if they have something
similar. I wouldn’t recommend 1/4 melamine for the Mendel90, I would have
done it in 3/4" plywood (12mm thick I think) like the mendel90 Sturdy
variant.

Thanks Mitch!
I was kind of enamored with cutting the parts out on the laser, but I think 3/4 is gonna be too thick. But yeah it’s probably more dimensionally stable.
Not really looking forward to drilling a zillion holes
I can help you make it on our CNC router.

Hey thanks! I was thinking about that as plan B. Once I get to that point I’ll hit you up. I just passed my Multicam test but having another brain on the project never hurts!
