[Solved] Garage door parts supplier in Dallas?

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to get my hands on a new garage door operator for my gate at the house. I’ve had issues with my unit for a few months and it went kaput this morning. Door operators are not the whole garage door, they are just the unit that receives signal to open. I haven’t seen any of these at Loews or home depot. So I guess I need to find a supply house in Dallas. Do any of you know of one that is in Dallas? I’d like to get the past today.

FWIW we use Everything Garage Doors in Plano when something goes wrong with our opener or door. It’s a mom-and-pop shop - he’s a good guy and might be able to get the parts you need. Seems like the kind of guy that would tell you who to call if he doesn’t have it, too. 214-228-1316.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven’t called them yet. It seems searching garage suppliers is useless as to many companies that only install advertise under that keyword. But, looking up hate suppliers found me the source I think I need.

That typo made me giggle.
But yeah, HD and Lowes only really seem to have the swing-style gate opener equipment. If you have a rolling/sliding gate, you’re SOL there, it would seem.
You might have some luck searching on the brand, and under “dealers” as well. Liftmaster example.

Good luck! I wish I had actual exerpience points here, but we’ve only had to get ours serviced by the installer, who only services those they’ve installed, as far as I know, so I’d love to know what your experience brings you.

So many garage door companies out there are 2 men in a truck and a lot of scammy people who are fly-by-night.

This one did our door and we are very happy with the results. Perhaps they can help you with the part you need?

Just went to automatic gate equipment and supply. They had everything that I needed for the gate. Got in and out quickly. If you are looking for parts or full systems you want to install yourself. I would recommend them. They were knowledgeable and thegave me solution that worked for my particular needs, rather than trying to send me to the fancy and expensive home automated solution, though they had that, I saw it on the wall when I walked in.

An update,

Installed the new gate operator and it works!!! Yeah! I can now open my gate from further than 7 feet away, now the range is about 50+ ft. O, and I will add this is with the housing on the drive unit, thanks to the remote antenna option of the new operator. Total out of pocket $48. Woo Hoo!
