Soldering clamp?

Do we have a soldering clamp similar to this?

It’s intended to hold butt joints in alignment while soldering.

We don’t have anything like that.
The way I learned to do those solders accurately was to make a D with the seam in the straight part of the D. Then clip your tweezers low on the straight part. With the seam you are soldering on the D straight up and down you can then heat it without it separating.

I was told that when you clip the tweezers out in the bend of the D it will cause tension that splits the joint under heat before your solder melts. I don’t know how true that is, all I can say is ring solders are the one solder I do really well.

Hope that helps

I’ve never seen those. Would love to give them a try!

The GRS soldering pad has some integral 3rd hands. It won’t be exactly like this, but you can set up your ring to be in the air and at any reasonable angle. I do it all the time.

I have that GRS soldering pad with the 3rd hands. I can’t manage to get it to align as precisely as I’d like …

Align them first with flat / half round pliers. Make sure the metal isn’t under any spring tension (annealed). Then just hold them steady with the tweezers.
