Once again there were no socket wrenches in the tool box and a quick sweep found a 1/2" one in the Haas. I needed a 3/8"
Can we buy a couple more of all three sizes? I know they tend to evaporate.
My suggestion is some (3-4) cheap (HF or better) all metal 1/4" and 3/8", and a pair of decent quality 1/2"
I’d also like to see a few of these:
Use T-handle drive to tighten/loosen fasteners and shaft drive for quick installation/removal of fasteners. 1/4 inch drive has a compact 6-1/2 inch drive shaft length for tight access and easy transport. Use with 1/4 inch drive sockets, hex drives,...
$11.67

And while I’m whining, I’d like to see us get a self aligning tap wrench:

If we buy any of them I’ll make sure they are suitably marked for the machine shop…

I’ll get ratchets ordered today, long as Arts card isn’t full.
Do we have blue paint somewhere in the machine shop, or should I pick a small quantity up?
Do we have any blue powder coat powder? Should we?
The smurftastic blue in the powder cabinet is DMS’s. It’s kind of a baby blue.

Close to what I was thinking.

If we decide to do this, we should probably get some epoxy paint for those things that should not be baked (like ratchets with grease inside, though we can tear those down for coating.)
I’ll be happy to buy and expense powder. I’d go with the 'high durability" powder like this:
It’s claimed to be more solvent and UV resistant.
Anyone have recommendations on paint and sources?
