Right… there’s that. However the quote he gave me was well under what I expected… but only got it to the port of Los Angeles… the expensive part is likely from there back to Dallas!
You’d be surprised. If you’re not in a hurry, Port of LA to Dallas, for wood (crated up) that size would run you less than $1K.
It only gets expensive if you need to move it fast. If you have 2+ weeks, they’ll leave it in the intermodal and send it via train to the yard in Dallas, and then do a short-haul truck service to your dock.
