I’m looking to remove just the tip off of these quick connect fittings. I’m new so I’m not sure what would be the easiest safest way to do this. The grinders, chop saw, or something else?
You could use angle grinders or bench grinders in metalshop. Take the Hot Process Welding Safety at learn.dallasmakerspace.org
And then sweep up after yourself please
If I want to use the bench grinder in Metal do I have to take the hot process course as well? I took the bench grinder course yesterday but my badge didn’t work.
You need to pass with 100%
Check your permissions at whoami.Dallasmakerspace.org
I don’t know if both are required
Alternatively, it could be taken off in the lathe. Might be able to be held by the hex; if not, then threading it into a large hex nut or piece of round stock, drilled and tapped for the thread involved.
Regards,
Bob
@jphaus47 I can’t help but to be curious about the intended use for it after it’s modified. If you have no use for the o-ring seal, what good would there be using that particular plug?
